While exploring the Murieston trail in Livingston, I discovered a Hawthorn tree with an intriguing story. Sadly, it had to be removed due to decay at its base. The wood, twisted and misshapen, caught my eye and inspired a creative resin project. Its colours beautifully capture the essence of the season when the log was found.
This Cherry trees stood on the boundary between to neighbouring gardens preventing the erection of a new fence in Craigshill Livingston. Misfortune for the tree but my good fortune as I acquired the logs after the landscape gardeners removed it. As you can see from this example Cherry is a beautiful wood and once dry this rest of the tree will live on decorating homes.
