Each piece begins with a conversation. Whether you're drawn to the warmth of native timber or the shimmer of resin inlay, commissioning a work allows your story to shape the craft. Explore past collaborations below, and discover how your vision can come to life in wood.
Commissioned by a classy lady drawn to Japanese aesthetics, these square bowls echo the harmony of handcrafted timber with the minimal elegance of sushi culture. Paired with chopsticks, they invite moments of quiet ritual.
Handturned from ash and accented with mussel shell inlay, this piece found its home aboard a cabin cruiser on Lake Ontario. The blue wax lifts the grain like waves catching sunlight—timber and tide united in quiet elegance.

Presented by the Scotland Branch of the Arboricultural Association on January 25, 2025, to Kevin Frediani for outstanding service to Scotland’s trees.
This lime wood once grew in a garden in Derbyshire—a place I visited for the first time with my sister, reconnecting with our cousins after years of distance. The scattered branches were too small for a bowl, but we gathered them together and I gave them new life, suspended in resin and shaped into this hollow form. It was crafted for the lady and her husband who tend that garden, and who welcomed us with warmth and grace. A quiet tribute to memory, reconciliation, and the beauty of shared roots
Whether you're seeking a distinctive bowl, a personal gift, or an idea transformed into timber, commissioned pieces at The Bowl Shed are crafted with care and story. If you have a design in mind—or just the spark of one—I’d love to help bring it to life.
